German Striker Niclas Füllkrug Joins Borussia Dortmund

Berlin, Germany - German Bundesliga powerhouse Borussia Dortmund has announced the signing of forward Niclas Füllkrug from Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen.
The 31-year-old striker has inked a contract with Dortmund that runs until the end of the 2025 season. Füllkrug is expected to bolster Dortmund's attack, which has struggled for consistency in recent months.
Füllkrug has been a key player for Werder Bremen since joining the club in 2019, scoring 47 goals in 121 appearances. He was also part of the Germany squad that finished third at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
"I am very happy to be joining Dortmund," said Füllkrug. "This is a great club with a rich history and a passionate fan base. I am excited to be a part of this and to help the team achieve its goals."
Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl welcomed Füllkrug to the club, saying, "Niclas is a proven goalscorer who will bring a lot of quality to our attack. He is a great addition to our squad and we are confident that he will help us to be successful in the second half of the season."
